It all came to pass in 919
It happened whilst Heinrich I was snaring birds in Quedlinburg, some time in 919, that the Saxon duke was offered the German crown. Eleven centuries later Quedlinburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contemporaries call it “Germany’s book of legends”.
